Agapita Hernandez, age 77 of Amarillo died Thursday, December 13, 2012.
Rosary will be said on Monday at 6:00 PM at Chapel of the Angels in Angel Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass is Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Jose Gomez as celebrant. Burial is at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur.
Agapita was born on December 9, 1935 to Pilar and Isabel Apodaca in Las Vegas, NM. She married Napolean Joe Sena Hernandez, Sr. and together they raised a wonderful family. She attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for many years and served as a Guadalupana.
She was preceded in death by Napolean, her husband of 15 years; 2 sons, Henry H. Hernandez and Joseph Hernandez and a daughter, Isabel “Eva” Hernandez.
Agapita is survived by; 3 daughters, Mary Rachel Carillo, Mary Dorothy Hernandez and Ruth Ann Wasson; 7 sons, Sammy6 Joe Apodaca, George Leroy Hernandez, Lawrence Hernandez, Napolean J.R. Hernandez, Jose Freda Hernandez, Agapito “Pete” Hernandez and Domingo Reyes Hernandez; 1 sister, Gloria Martinez; 2 brothers, Gilbert Apodaca & Adelaido Apodaca; brother in law Henry and sister in law Nancy; 35 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Family was very important to Agapita. She was dearly loved and will be missed greatly.
