Angela Wilhelm Milton

December 13, 1957 — May 24, 2024

Nazareth

Angela "Angie" Wilhelm Milton, a beloved wife, mother, educator, and community member, passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2024, in Groom at the age of 66.

She was born to James and Irene Wilhelm in Nazareth, Texas, on December 13, 1957. Angie was a cherished daughter and sister. She graduated from Nazareth High School, Amarillo College with an associate's degree in radio broadcasting, and West Texas A&M with a degree in education. Before she began her teaching career, she was a DJ for several radio stations, including the one owned by Mel Tillis. She later pursued her passion for education, dedicating herself to teaching special education students.
Throughout her career, which spanned many years in schools in Hereford and Dimmitt, Angie touched the lives of countless students and colleagues with her kindness and dedication. Her commitment to making a difference in the lives of those around her was evident in everything she did, both in and outside the classroom.

Angie found love and companionship with her husband, Harvey Milton, whom she married on June 12, 2003, in Hereford. Together, they shared a love for "t-buckets" and traveled the country as active members of the National T-Bucket Alliance. Angie's role as the Alliance's secretary allowed her to meet new people and create lasting memories with Harvey by her side.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Wilhelm, and a sister, Vicky Chester.

Angie's warm heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves a legacy of love and compassion that will continue inspiring those she touched. Angie is survived by her devoted husband, Harvey; her son, Terrance Wilhelm; grandsons Ryland and Greyson Wilhelm; sisters Juanita Barker, Mary Olvera, Evelyn Rankin, and Jeanne Birkenfeld; and her brothers, Tim, Dale, and Shawn Wilhelm.

A memorial service honoring Angie's life will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the First Baptist Church in Dimmitt. We gather to celebrate and remember the light that Angie brought into our lives and to find comfort in the love she shared with us all. In her memory, let us continue to carry her spirit forward with kindness and generosity, just as she did during her time with us.
