Ann Marine Mercer

Ann Marine Mercer, 79, of Amarillo, passed peacefully on August 25, 2023.

The family will receive guests on Monday, August 28, 2023, from 4pm to 7pm at Angel Funeral Home; 2209 S. Arthur. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2023 at 10am in the funeral home’s Chapel of Angels with Rev. Greg Corona Presiding.

Miss Ann was born to Matthew Mercer and Mamie “Jabo” Mercer Moton on July 16, 1944 in Taylor Texas, moving shortly after with her mother to Spur, TX. Miss Ann attended school in Spur, TX until 8th grade and moved to Hereford attending high school at Hereford High until graduation. Later graduating college with her LVN in which she worked at Westgate Nursing Home in Hereford, Parmer County Hospital in Friona and Castro County Nursing and Rehab in Dimmitt for over 30 years until retiring in 2010. Miss Ann then began her Christian walk at Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Hereford as a faithful working member as a children’s Sunday school teacher, BTU teacher and missionary teacher until her health began declining and moving to Amarillo, TX to be closer to her son.

Rejoicing as she was reunited with those that preceded her in death, her son, Edward Mercer, father Matthew and mother Mamie “Jabo”, her “2nd mother” Ethel Walker, grandmother Exie Lee “Big Momma” Mays, her brother Wayne Moton, brother Chancie Mercer, brother Melvin Mercer, brother Joe Mercer, sister Patricia Mercer, granddaughter Michelle, step-mother Florice Mercer and sister-in-law Thelma Mercer

Surviving family includes a brother Robert Mercer, 3 sisters Twana Moton, Marsha Mercer and Henrietta Mercer, 2 sons Jackie Mercer and Annie, Patrick Mercer and Sommer; 3 granddaughters Crystal McDowell and Anthony, Tiffany Cook and John, Tai Mercer; 1 grandson Zion Mercer; 3 great grandsons Kyland and Kaleb Tyler and Jayden Cook and 1 great granddaughter Aubrie Cook, and wife of Wayne, Letitia Moton
