Augustin Guadalupe Lara

Augustin Guadalupe Lara, “Magoo”, 39, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on March 18, 2026, in Abilene, Texas.

Viewing and visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 10 am to 6 pm, at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur. Rosary will begin at 6 pm. Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Reverend Taylor Elzner as Celebrant, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 10 am. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery East.

Augustin was born on December 12, 1986, in Amarillo, Texas to Augustin R. and Esperanza (Salinas) Lara. 

Augustin to many was someone you had to know in order to understand. If you had the pleasure of knowing him, he surely left an unforgettable mark in your heart, because he was not how he looked. His heart was big for those he loved. He had a reserved manner unless he was comfortable with you then you met a completely different person. He was funny, loveable, proud, humble, and a protector by nature of all he loved. He enjoyed spending his time with close friends and family, he loved his cars, but his pride was his son Santos whom he loved to spend his time with. He was a loving son, brother, and father.

He is survived by his son Santos Augustin Lara, Mother Esperanza Lara, Siblings: Jesus Jose Salinas, Grecia Lara, Linda Lara, and Jose Manuel Lara. Nieces and nephews Santino Sambrano, Linda Blea, Reyna Blea, Araceli Puente, and Andres Wolf. He leaves behind a legacy that will not be forgotten and memories with everyone who he encountered we will hold on to these and remember him as he was until we meet again.
