Bonnie Lou (Allen) McSpadden

March 3, 1931 — December 13, 2021

Amarillo, Texas

Bonnie Lou (Allen) McSpadden was born 03/03/31 in Altus, Oklahoma to Tom Richard Allen and Grace (Elliott) Lillian Allen, who were born during the late 1890's.  Bonnie was the fifth of six children born to them during the difficulties of the depression era, and the famous Dust Bowl of Oklahoma. Being an Okie, Bonnie often recalled the dust bowl and the challenges that families faced during that time. Life was hard for the family, but she had her beloved mother Grace and big sisters Pansy Mozelle Spear and Mary Aline Martin. Bonnie knew she could always rely on her older sisters to look after her and her little brother Richard during these difficult times.

Bonnie was a proud alumna of the 1949 class of Altus, Oklahoma High School and went on to raise five children after her divorce in the early 1970's. She worked at a dentist’s office for many years in Amarillo, Texas while continuing her education. She later branched out into commercial real estate and found success in property management throughout the 1980’s.

Bonnie eventually moved to the Garland and Mesquite area in Texas to join several of her children and began working in property management for the elderly until her retirement in 1996. Upon retirement, she moved back to Amarillo, Texas where she spent her later years enjoying hobbies such as bridge, reading, enjoying music, and volunteer work.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her daughter Pam (Pantel) Homan (2011), son Baxter McSpadden (2015) and Grandson Ryan Gotcher (2018). She is survived by son Allen McSpadden of Phoenix, daughter Robin Bristow of Amarillo, son Curtis McSpadden of Dallas, and only surviving sibling, her brother Richard Allen of Stillwater, OK.

Bonnie also leaves behind her grandchildren, Skylar Bristow, Zach Pantel, Tara Pantel, Shawna McSpadden, Quinn McSpadden, Brooke (McSpadden) Cannady, Dustin McSpadden, Blake McSpadden, Courtney McSpadden, Jason McSpadden and Alexandria McSpadden, along with 14 great-grandchildren and more to come.
