Amarillo
A rosary will be said on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 6:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 South Georgia. The funeral will be Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Schooler Funeral Home.
Cristian Javier Diaz was born on February 27, 1999, in Amarillo, Texas, to his parents, Guillermo Javier Diaz and Roxanne Grace Rodriguez. He graduated from Caprock High School in 2017.
Cristian was a young man who knew exactly who he was. He was particular, neat, and orderly, with a system for everything. He was punctual, confident, proud, and never afraid to communicate what he thought or felt. At times, that confidence could come across as almost arrogant, but those who knew him best understood that beneath it all was a heart that loved deeply and fiercely.
His love for his family and friends was unwavering. Cristian was compassionate, generous, and protective of those he cherished. He was especially proud of Juan’s military service in the Marines and carried great admiration for that commitment. Family meant everything to Cristian, and he treasured the people closest to him.
Cristian had a beautiful smile that could light up a room. He was artistic and creative, recently completing an apprenticeship with Chad Smith at American Vengeance Tattoo Studio. He had tremendous respect for Chad and was honored to have been mentored by him. His artistry was a reflection of his personality—bold, intentional, and uniquely his own.
He also loved to cook like his father, especially chicken cutlets and Alfredo. Cristian was adventurous, enjoyed being outdoors, and loved spending time with his pup, Buddy.
Cristian will be remembered for his confidence, his passion, his creativity, and the fierce love he gave to the people who mattered most.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Cristian is survived by his mother Roxanne; his sisters, Sophia Herrera and husband Gabriel and Mercedes Diaz; his brothers, Juan Soto and Sebastian Diaz; his niece, Aaliyah Grace Herrera; his nephew, Gabriel Javier Herrera; his aunt Rita Gonzales and husband Michael Saldana; cousins, Demetria Nicole Gonzales, Crystal Marie Arevalo and husband Juan, Elsa Gonzales and her partner Margaret Salcedo; and his faithful canine companion, Buddy.
