David Lee Chaparro, 64, of Amarillo died on January 17, 2020.
Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 26, 2020 in Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home.
David was born in Wichita, KS to Westremundo Chaparro and Aurora Leona. He graduated from Caprock High School in 1974. He married his beloved wife Kim on June 2, 2000.
Landscaping was not just his profession, but one of his passions working for Texas Tech University Health Science Center as a Ground Supervisor. He loved to work on his own lawn, play games and spend time with his family. David’s all time favorite past time was fishing; He would fish anywhere, anytime and with anyone who had the patience to sit still long enough. And “long enough” usually meant just a little while longer until one MIGHT bite. But he didn’t have to catch one to be happy. As long as he was sitting by the water with a pole in his hand, the trip was not wasted.
David is survived by his loving wife Kim Chaparro of Amarillo; his two daughters Shawna Bohn of Pampa and Shay Cranford and husband Stephen of Amarillo; two sons Chris and David Chaparro both of Amarillo; two sisters Francis and Doloris and brother Daniel Chaparro; and 12 grandchildren who will miss there grandpa greatly, David, Lisa, Joshua, Juanetta, Elyes, Leilani, Krista, Zachery, Korbin, Makayla, Chloe and Mya.
