David Stavlo, age 84, of Amarillo, Texas, entered Heaven at 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning, July 9th, surrounded by his loving family.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, July 11th at 1:00 at Dyer's Barbecue at 1619 S Kentucky St in Amarillo, followed by a more intimate gathering at 3:00 p.m. at an undisclosed location. For that information, you can call his son at (214)208-5210.
David was born in Texoma, Texas, on April 19, 1939, to his parents, Oscar and Marie Stavlo. He was a life-long resident of the Texas Panhandle, graduating from Spearman High School and having long-term residences in Sunray, Dumas, and Amarillo. He worked hard his whole life and provided dearly for his family. David loved people and always had a smile on his face. He loved family gatherings and even endured long trips with them, even though kids aren't always the best travel companions. Although he always had to work long hours at work, he never complained. He loved his pets. He loved his family, from his elders to his wife, to the youngest of his great-grandchildren. Even on his last day, seeing his youngest great-grandson brought a huge smile to his face.
David was preceded by death by his parents and his brother Don. He is survived by his wife Diane, of Amarillo, brothers James of Buda, Texas, and Robert of Sunray, Texas; his sister Ruth, of Mesquite, Texas; his children Tammie, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Kevin, of Hickory, North Carolina, and Michelle of Cheyenne Wyoming. He is also survived by 7 granddaughters and 16 great-grandchildren, leaving an amazing legacy. David was loved by each and every person in his family, and we all know Heaven has gained an amazing angel to watch over each one of us.
