Deborah Jean (Loy) Anderson

September 9, 1959 — April 13, 2017

Deborah Jean Anderson, 57 years old, died at her home in Amarillo, Texas on April 13, 2017.  Deborah was born September 9, 1959 in Saginaw, Michigan and spent her formative years in her hometown of Midland Michigan.  In her early 20’s, she moved to Texas.  While living in Lake Dallas, Texas, she met Pierce Anderson and they were married on July 3, 1991.  They later moved and settled in Amarillo, Texas.

Deborah (Debbi) was the youngest child of Billy and Bette Loy.  She is survived by her son, Steven Chaffin of North Carolina and two sisters; Kay (Jerry) Conklin of Midland, MI and Patty (Chuck) Miller of South Whitley, IN.  She is also survived by four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Her husband and best friend, Lawrence Pierce Anderson died in 2005.  She was also preceded in death by her parents as well as her older brothers, Robert Loy and Richard Loy.

Deborah had a great love of the USA, was a strong supporter of Veterans and recently became a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).  She loved all animals (except skunks she was always quick to add.)  She recently suffered the loss of her German Shepherd, a sweet old gal named Sadie Mae.  Deborah would be happy to know that two neighbors selflessly adopted her two other surviving pets.

She was blessed with a huge heart, had a wickedly keen sense of humor and a true talent for storytelling.  Her given name was Deborah, but she took delight in her nickname of “Trouble.” She lived life on her terms and was justly proud of that.   If you didn’t know her, you can get a taste of her personality via her favorite quotes:  “I speak to myself because once in a while I enjoy an intelligent conversation” -Billy R Loy (dad); “I once thought I was wrong but turns out, I was mistaken.” Anonymous; “If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.” Martin Luther King Jr.  And if you did know her, you are probably smiling to yourself or laughing out loud saying, yep that was Deborah (or Debbi).

She posted a meme to her Facebook page that read “BEING CERMATED IS MY LAST HOPE FOR A SMOKING HOT BODY,” and then emailed her sisters to jokingly remind them of that in case anything happened to her.  So in accordance to those wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.  And she would have loved having this paragraph included in her obituary.  And to all of her family and close friends, she would want added to her obituary “love you bunches…and bunches more.”
