Deborah Kay McPherson

Deborah Kay McPherson, 69, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, in the comfort of her home, with her beloved son and daughter-in-love by her side.

Born on November 13, 1955, in Paris, Texas, to Nora and Robert Hudson, Deborah lived a life marked by love, devotion, and quiet strength. On October 20, 1980, she married the love of her life, Claude McPherson Jr.

Deborah was a dedicated wife and mother whose nurturing spirit extended far beyond her immediate family. She had a long and respected career as an insurance underwriter, all while pouring her heart into raising her son and supporting those around her.

She had a deep love for Texas sports and could often be found cheering on her favorite teams — the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Mavericks. In quieter moments, she found joy in working on jigsaw puzzles, always up for the challenge and the satisfaction of the final piece.

Deborah is survived by her loving son, Claude McPherson III, and his wife Janie; her cherished grandchildren Phoenix, Shane, and Rayden, who lovingly called her Grandma; and numerous children she claimed along the way extending her motherly love to many. She also leaves behind her siblings Richard, Ernest, Belinda, Vonda, and Carol, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who felt like family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Claude McPherson Jr.; her parents, Nora and Robert Hudson; and her brother, Robert.

A celebration of Deborah’s life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 800 8th Street, Canyon, Texas, with details to follow.

Her warmth, loyalty, and laughter will be missed by all who knew and loved her. In honor of her legacy, the family welcomes those whose lives she touched to gather in remembrance of a life beautifully lived and deeply loved.
