Deborah Lynn Wheat 61 of Amarillo died April 27, 2015 in Amarillo.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 4th at 10:30 AM at Bykota Southern Baptist Church, 4022 NE 26th Avenue. Jason Huntington , Chaplain of Hospice Care of the Southwest.
Deb was born in Chicago, IL on August 14, 1953 to Dale and Louise Baccus Wheat. She attended Caprock High School. Deb loved children and work at Pleasant Valley Elementary before beginning working at Amarillo Montessori Academy as a teacher ten years ago.
Deb was preceded in death by her father, Dale and a daughter, Debbie Sanchez.
She is survived by her daughter, Angi Bills; her sons, Adam Hammonds, Jack Thurmond and Dwane Hammonds all of Amarillo; her mother, Louise Walker; her sisters, Lana Gann, Dena Harriger, Jenny Vicario and Joy Engel; her brother Drew Wheat; her sister of the heart, Leslie White; seven grandchildren, Tobi Greene, Jessica Bills, Sarah Brown, Tiara Davis, Zachary Davis, Will Brown and Leah Hammonds; and her two great grandchildren, Aarin and Carwin Wood.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Hospice Care of the Southwest or Amarillo Montessori Academy.
