Amarillo

Delois “Ann” Baker, 66, of Amarillo passed peacefully in her home on June 3, 2023.

Ann’s life will be celebrated at the LOFT Church, 4400 S. Georgia on Satuday, June 10, 2023 at 3pm. Cremation Arrangements are in the care of Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur in Amarillo.

Ann was born in Silverton, Texas to Kelsie Sr. Baker, and Dorothy Gallington Baker on June 27, 1956. Our Beautiful Ann was known for her unconditional love. She had such compassion and kindness towards others. She was full of joy and faithfully prayed for all she knew.

Ann loved to praise her Jesus in word and song. She loved family time, meals with the family, watching cartoons, assembling puzzles, listening to music, and collecting baby dolls and stuffed animals. Ann had such excitement for celebrations, dance gatherings, and attending Camp Agape each summer. Ann absolutely loved life and she laughed and giggled like no other. More than anything, Ann was known for her beautiful, contagious smile. Ann touched the hearts of everyone that crossed her path. To meet her was to love her, to know her was to adore her. For almost 10 years she lived in the home with her family by choice and love. She was survived in that home by Janis, her honorary “Good Mommy”, and her honorary brother Chris. Her honorary brother Joe that proceeded her to heaven in 2020. She shared an amazing life with her honorary granny, shepherd of Christ Kerry, nana, many sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and fellow special needs clients. She has numerous friends she absolutely loved and that dearly loved her straight from the heart of Jesus.  Ann had eight siblings.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers Bill, Charlie, Eddie and Jerry Baker, and sister Janice Baker. She is survived by her brother Kelsie Baker Jr and family, and her sister Erma Mitchell and family. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In closing, we would like to thank everyone who helped take care of Ann throughout her life. She will be missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made to The Loft Church for "Night to Shine" Special Needs Ball in memory of our Ann.
