Donna Jean Keeney

April 13, 1938 — January 16, 2024

Donna was born to Maddie and Doug Keeney on 2/13/1938.  Donna, 85 years old, lived an active life right up until the end.  She had a sense of humor, and would tell you, “Everybody loves me”, to which her cousin, Jim, would reply, “That’s right Donna, you are a VIP!”    She spent many years attending TPMR’s day program, lived in a group home, and then was cared for at Legacy Rehabilitation and Living.  She loved her family, and she was very happy attending activity programs ranging from bingo, to PT, to arts and crafts.  Every Christmas she would arrive with handmade items made with love for each family member.  Donna enjoyed going out with Jim and Carol every Sunday, and she and Carol enjoyed getting their nails done.  Donna preferred the “glitter” and glam look when choosing a nail color, and she was popular among residents and staff at Legacy.

Donna grew up with her mother and father, and later her stepfather, Andy Anderson.  They lived just two blocks from her aunt, Ann Gardner, VR Gardner, and James Gardner, a small, but close-knit family.  She was an active member of 2nd Baptist Church.  She is preceded by grandmother, Mary Hooper, parents Doug Keeney, Maddie Anderson, and Andy Anderson, Aunt Ann Gardner, and husband VR Gardner.  Surviving family include James and Carol Gardner, Cassi, Matt, and Christopher Gardner, Tristen Gardner, and her newest cousins, Archer, and Jasper Gardner.  A Memorial Service will be held at Legacy Rehabilitation and Living.
