Doug Roper, age 60, of Amarillo died Sunday, December 20, 2015.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Irwin Road Baptist Church, 5631 Irwin Rd. with Pastor Barney Railsback as officiant. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home.
Doug Roper was born March 22, 1955 in Fairbanks, AK to Douglas and Idell Roper. He proudly served in the US Army National Guard for four years before serving in the US Navy for nineteen years. He married Brenda Lybrand in August of 1976 in Amarillo. They were stationed all over the United States before returning to Amarillo in 1991. He then started installing Handicap equipment in Automobiles which he did until 2011. He loved the outdoors and hunting and fishing.
Doug is survived by his wife, Brenda Roper of Amarillo; three daughters, Julie Preston and husband, Preston of Skellytown, Jamie Roper of Amarillo and Victoria Roper of Durant, OK; one son, Allan Roper and wife, Tyra of Texoma, OK; three brothers, Bill Roper and wife, Tammy of Bennington, OK, Jim Roper and wife Rose of Lacrsosse, KS and Steven Roper of Durant, OK; his mother Idell Roper of Amarillo; and nine grandchildren.
