Douglas "Doug" Eugene Stratton

Douglas "Doug" Eugene Stratton, 59, of Amarillo, passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on July 11, 2023.

The family will host a celebration of Doug's life on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at 2 pm at 6180 Quedito in Amarillo.

He was born on May 18, 1964, in Amarillo, Texas, to John Stratton and Ruby Moody. Doug attended Palo Duro High School. Doug worked for Grant Construction for over 20 years.

After being together for four years, Doug married his wife, Donna, on December 16, 2022. He was a great husband. They enjoyed riding their Harley with friends and family in their free time. Doug also loved to play pool, and Donna was along for every tournament.

Doug was a caring man who never met a stranger. He was the absolute best husband to Donna and loved her and her family more than anyone could ever imagine. He was a great father, grandfather, and friend. If any of his friends and family ever needed anything, he would drop what he was doing to lend a helping hand.

Doug is preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Stratton and Johnny Stratton.

He is survived by his parents, John and Ruby; his beautiful wife, Donna; two Sons, Andrew and his wife April; Darren and his wife Cristina; two sisters, Sharon and Tammy; four brothers, Robert, Timothy, Gene, and Tuffy; His bonus children Brandi and husband Anthony; Shani and husband Steven; Rocky and wife Shaley; and grandchildren Malaki, Cheradyn, Devyn, Leilan, Beth, Chase and wife Charlene, Hayze, Uri, Trevor, Derek, Preston, Koltyn, Kayden, Kate’Lynn, Julius, Ace, Trever, Jaxsyn, Maximus, and Ryden; his mother and father in law, Gary and Janie Prather, who loved their “Dougie Poo”; many nieces and nephews; and great friends!
