Elvira "Vira" Gonzales Perez

Elvira “Vira” Gonzales Perez, 55, went home to the Lord Jesus Christ July 10, 2014.

A Prayer Service will be held at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 South Arthur, at 6:00 PM, July 14, 2014. A funeral mass will be said at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 15, 2014 with Rev. Jose Gomez as celebrant and Msgr. Rex Nicholl as concelebrant. Interment will be in Llano Cemetery East.

Ms. Perez was born August 15, 1958 in Amarillo, Tx to Alfred O. and Esiquel “Lita” Gonzales where she was a lifelong resident. Ms. Perez attended Caprock High School where she graduated in 1972. She enjoyed listening to Tejano music and oldies, as well as family gatherings and watching her favorite teams the Denver Broncos and the San Antonio Spurs Play as she cheered them on. Ms. Perez was the heart and soul of the family and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, two brothers, Johnny Carrasco and Paul Ponce, one sister, Renalda Ponce and a neice, Renee Romero.

She is survived by five sons, Albino Sifuentez, Alfred Sifuentez, Carlos Perez, Jr., Jeremy Perez, and Jerell Perez all of Amarillo, four brothers, Joe David Villareal, Henry Ponce both of Amarillo, Richard Carrasco of Aurora, Colorado, and Jesus Carrasco of LaPuente, California, five sisters, Anna Gonzales, Debbie Gonzales, Marie Alvarez, Andrea Cantu and Frances Andersen all of Amarillo, 10 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
