Born on August 19, 1942, in Tucumcari, New Mexico, Emma was the daughter of Bernarda and Benny Martinez. She is survived by her brother, Johnny Martinez.
Emma leaves behind her husband, Anthony Hernandez, whom she loved dearly. Together they shared a lifetime of memories built on love, strength, and family.
She was the proud mother of five daughters and three sons, all of Amarillo, Texas. Her daughters include Carmen Garza; Josie Craine and husband Randy Craine; Teresa Cristan and husband Steve Cristan; Christina Rodriguez and husband John Rodriguez; and Rachel Archuleta and husband Eugene Archuleta. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved with her whole heart.
Emma cherished being surrounded by her family. She loved hosting get-togethers, sharing laughter, and spending time with her loved ones—almost as much as she enjoyed her visits to Walmart. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and each of them will carry the joyful memories they made with her.
Emma’s kindness, strength, and deep love for her family touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
