Estela Miranda, born on December 18, 1963, in Lamesa, Texas, to Thomas and Sofia López, passed away on February 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and wisdom touched the lives of everyone she met.
The family will receive guests from 4 pm to 6 pm on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur. A prayer vigil and rosary will begin at 6 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 4122 S. Bonham, on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 11 am with Reverend Gabriel Garcia presiding. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery East.
In 1983, Estela married the love of her life, Guadalupe Miranda. Together they made their home in Perryton, Texas, where they raised their three children. In November 2019, they moved to Amarillo to be closer to their children and grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with family.
After the passing of her beloved husband, Estela found strength in serving her community. She worked as a gym custodian at Amarillo High School, where athletes and parents alike supported her through difficult days. She took great pride in celebrating their accomplishments and found joy in being part of their journey. She later joined the team at Goodwill, where she formed meaningful friendships with coworkers and customers. Estela had a remarkable gift for remembering names and greeting everyone with a warm smile, brightening their day as much as they brightened hers. She was always ready to listen, offer thoughtful advice, and gently guide those she loved.
Estela was a proud and devoted grandmother to Giovanni Garcia, Darrian Garcia, Leandro Garcia, Jarred Garcia, and Serenity Lepe. She treasured her great-granddaughter, Kamila Lepe-Gómez, and eagerly awaited the arrival of her soon-to-be-born great-granddaughter, Syveah Lepe-Gómez.
Even in her final days, Estela’s thoughts were of others. She ensured that her blankets and headwear would be donated to those courageously fighting cancer, a reflection of her lifelong generosity and compassion.
Estela had a gentle spirit and a generous heart. She never met a stranger and had a special way of making everyone feel seen, valued, and loved.
She is survived by her children: Sandra Garcia and son-in-law Juan Garcia; Daniel Miranda and daughter-in-law Julie Mendez-Miranda; and Gabriel Miranda; along with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Though she will be deeply missed, Estela’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. They will continue to honor her memory by carrying forward the love, joy, wisdom, and selflessness she shared so freely each day.
