Jean was born in Clarendon on August 4, 1936 to Orville Lloyd and Althea Juanita Ellis. At the age of 19, she married her love, Dewey Sample on October 28, 1955. They would have celebrated their sixty year anniversary in October.
Jean was a homemaker whose life revolved around that of her family, especially her grandchildren. They were her delight.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother Gary Don Ellis.
Jean is survived by her husband Dewey; her two daughters, Kathy Brown and her husband Kenneth of Amarillo and Brenda Townsend and her husband Don of Albuquerque; her two sons, Jimmy Sample of Albuquerque and Jerry Sample and his wife Lynn of Fredericksburg, TX; and by six grandchildren
