Jesus Maria Mendoza, 78, of Amarillo, died on Saturday, January 14, 2017 in Amarillo.
Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM today at Angel Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, January 17, 2017 at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 2300 N. Spring St. with Rev. Antonio Galindo OFM as celebrant. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur.
Maria was born on May 22, 1938 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Adolfo and Maria Vaquetero. She married Ruben Mendoza in April of 1959. She loved flowers and gardening. She was friendly to all and full of laughter. She treasured her family time and eating out. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed. She was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church.
Maria was preceded in death by one son, Mario Mendoza; her parents; and three sisters, Manuela Vaquetero, Socorro Garcia, and Consuelo Garcia.
She is survived by her husband Ruben Mendoza of the home; one daughter, Irma Hernandez and husband Alejandro of Cimarron, KS; six sons, Sergio Mendoza and wife Sandra of Amarillo, Ruben Mendoza Jr. of Midland, Leonel Mendoza of Mexico, Jose Mendoza and wife Aide of Friona, Yamil Mendoza of Amarillo, and Mario Mendoza of Garden City, KS; 25 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
