Jose Rene Cruz, age 66 of Amarillo died Tuesday, September 3, 2013.
Rosary will be said at 6pm today at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur St.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 6 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Jose Gomez as celebrant. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home.
Jose was born June 15, 1947 in Weslaco, Texas to Jacinto and Maria Garcia Cruz. He worked for many years in the concrete business. He loved spending time with his family, and especially with his grandkids. Jose was known as a great dancer and a jokester, and he also enjoyed cookouts.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Esperanza Guillen Cruz; two daughters, Thelma Do and Elma Transgrud; and two brothers, Ruben and Reymundo Cruz.
Jose is survived by his wife, Jovita Cruz; two daughters, Cynthia Cruz and Melissa Henderson and spouse Daniel, all of Amarillo; three sons, Chris Cruz of Amarillo, Alex Cruz of Ohio, and Jose Rene Cruz, Jr. of Colorado; four sisters, Alvina Garza of Colorado, Sara Margo of Mansfield, Janie Gonzalez and spouse Santos, and Clerida Cruz and spouse Felipe Cruz, all of Hereford; three brothers, Raul Cruz and spouse Gloria of Hereford, Roland Cruz and spouse Olivia of San Angelo, and Ramiro Cruz and spouse Martha of Alvin; 21 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
