Luis was born on October 13, 1949 in Juarez, Mexico to Ramon and Tomasa Zapata. In 1974, he married his beloved Leticia Villar and they began their family. Luis found his talents in working with metal. He was an incredible welder and loved to fabricate things out of iron so much that it was not only a hobby, but became a career that supported his growing family. He was faithfully devoted to his darling Leticia and cherished the moments and family the two of them built together. Luis had a bit of humorous side and loved to prank any and everyone just to get a good laugh. He was the jokester of the family whose sole objective was to see everyone smile.

Luis loved the Texas Rangers baseball team, and even more so the San Francisco 49ers of the NFL. His love for these two teams was only overshadowed by his hatred of the Dallas Cowboys. In his younger years, Luis travelled all over Mexico as a professional wrestler. He loved the luchador lifestyle and the thrill of entertaining fans rather it be in front of a small crowd in a gymnasium, or the larger crowds of bigger event venues or coliseums. He had a passion to put on the best show for everyone who bought a ticket.

Luis is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Jesus and Jose Zapata. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Leticia Zapata, daughters, Rosa Dominguez and husband Daniel, and Lupe Ornelas and husband Gabriel, son, Luis Zapata Jr and spouse Erika Almanza; ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
