Lundy "Bud" E. Smith

Lundy “Bud” Smith, age 86, of Amarillo, passed from this life on August 28, 2023.

The family will receive guests at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 South Arthur, from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday evening, August 29, 2023.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Bolton Street Baptist Church, 2555 S. Bolton Street.  Interment will follow at Llano Cemetery.

Bud was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, on August 24, 1937, to his parents, Lundy Berl and Mary Magdalene Osborn Smith.

Bud enjoyed restoring cars and spending time with his family throughout his life.  He worked hard to provide for the family and was especially fond of his grandchildren.

In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  If you were looking for him, he was generally at one of these two places: the scrap yard or the donut shop.  He immensely enjoyed visiting both places and, many times, would take his kids along for the donuts! He was an easygoing, dependable man that you could always count on. He loved meeting people and never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Delores Crane; a brother, Bobby Smith; and by a son, Terry Smith.

Bud is survived by his wife Bubbles of the home; by his two daughters, Julie Wilson and her husband Steve of Amarillo and Melonie Rascon of California; his sons, Bobby Smith and his wife Tammy of Ohio, David Smith and his wife Belinda of Ohio, Gary Smith and his wife Shannon of Florida, Michael Smith and his wife Sherry of Amarillo, Lundy Ester of Ohio, Mark Smith and his wife Mary of California, and Daniel Ames and his wife Kim of Amarillo; thirty-two grandchildren; forty nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
