Manuel Rene Elisondo

Manuel Rene Elisondo, age 47, of Amarillo, Texas, Passed away in Lubbock, Texas, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

Manuel was born on October 25, 1976 in Goliad, Texas to Rene Ramon Elisondo and Francisca Escalante. Manuel was a resident of Earth, TX, who moved to Amarillo in 1991 at the age of 15. He was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing just about anything. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Manuel was a loving father, brother, and uncle and will be missed tremendously. 

Manuel is preceded in death by his father, Rene Elisondo; stepmother, Matilde Nava; stepfather, Crescencio Lopez Jr.; brother, Rodolfo (Rudy) Elisondo; sister, Mary Ellen (Nani) Elisondo; and grandparents. 

He leaves behind a daughter, Skyla Elisondo Gonzalez (Lambert Gonzalez), and two grandchildren, Eden & Cain Gonzalez, all of Earth, TX. Two sons, Manuel Elisondo Jr. and Nico Elisondo, both of Amarillo, TX. Mother, Francisca Escalante of Earth TX. Four sisters, Crystal Elisondo Willard (Lance Willard) and Patsy Elisondo Basquez (Mark Basquez), both of Littlefield, TX. Jessica Nava (Placido Gonzalez) of Amarillo, TX, and Mary Ellen Cuellar (Tony Cuellar) of Hereford, TX. Two brothers, Jose Cruz Jr. of Earth, TX, and Victor Nava (Alejandra Nava) of Oklahoma City, OK. Eight nephews, Jacob Escalona, Jordan Ramos (Karina Mena), Jose Cuellar, Anthony Cuellar, Jordan Cruz, Isaiahs Cruz, Rodolfo ( Rudy) Elisondo Jr., and Tommy Nava. Ten nieces, Arieana Torres, Natalia Escalona, Samantha Duran, Ximena Willard, Bianca Nava, Carmen Nava, Marissa Cuellar (Christian), Mariella Cruz, Melanie Cruz, and Cheynne Nava, and eighteen great-nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be from 12 PM to 6 PM Monday, July 22, at Angel’s Funeral Home, followed by a prayer presided by Chaplain Fredy Pavez. The burial of his ashes will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home of Amarillo, TX, 2209 S Arthur St, Amarillo, TX 79103.
