Manuel Cera Hernandez, age 59 of Amarillo, died September 24, 2012 in Amarillo.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Laurence Catholic Church on Friday September 28th at 2:00 PM. Celebrant will be Rev. Felipe Alvarez. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur.
Manuel was born in Chihuahua, Mexico on February 9, 1953 and came to Amarillo in 1977. Initially, he worked for IBP, however he had been employed with Texas Sand and Gravel for the past 23 years. Manuel enjoyed traveling back to Mexico to see family and friends. He was a hard worker and a devoted father and grandfather.
He is lovingly survived by his daughters, Ana Prieto and her husband Juan of Amarillo, Claudia Felix and her husband Mario of Wheeler and Lizeth Cera of Amarillo; his sons Eddie Cera and his wife Maribel of Amarillo and Benjamin Cera of Amarillo; his two sisters, Porfiria Cera Hernandez of Chihuahua and Teresa Hernandez of Wheeler; two brothers, Edmundo Cera of Chihuahua and Leonel Hernandez and wife Maria Elena of Amarillo; and his fourteen grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia on Thursday afternoon from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Friday morning from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
