Mondella Raline Carroll, 83, of Amarillo passed away on July 29, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
No services are scheduled at this time.
Mondella was born on August 16, 1941, in Raymondville, Texas to Raleigh “Ray” and Nadine (Bristol) Rule. She spent time around the Hurst, Texas area before her daughter, DD, moved her to Amarillo, Texas so she could be closer to family and be cared for. Following her High School Graduation, she obtained her Cosmetology Degree and spent time as a licensed cosmetologist before transitioning into Property Management. She then made the choice to give back to people and began caring for the elderly, a career path she took great pride in.
Mondella loved her family so deeply and was incredibly proud of all of her children, blood or bonus. She was a firecracker with a huge personality, dynamite in a small package as some would say. Mondella was an incredibly proud daughter of a farmer and didn’t mind letting anyone know. She flew her flag proudly and made sure she hung it with respect and dignity, traits instilled in her over a life of hardships and triumphs. Even as her health declined, Mondella was a fighter to the very end.
Mondella was very much in touch with the outdoors. She found great solace in her trips to Lake City, Colorado and loved to get out on the water and enjoy some kayaking.
Mondella is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jim Miller, children, Shellye Carroll and Kevin Carroll, bonus son, Jim Miller Jr; and brother Andrew Rule.
Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, DD Carroll and wife April, grandchildren, Caylee Mahaffey-Holman and Dalton Miller, three great-grandchildren, and bonus children, Leslie and Rhonda; as well as many extended family and cherished friends.
