Chad was born on December 8, 1978, in Plainview, Texas, to Royce Lorenz and Donna Joslin.

He attended school at Cal Farleys Boys Ranch and graduated in May of 1997. It was here that he had a slew of personal achievements in Rodeo, football, and wrestling. Wrestling is where he excelled, winning numerous matches and tournaments. He was exceptionally proud of his State wrestling finishes, where he came 6th in 1996 and 4th in 1997.

Shortly after High school, he made the decision to serve in the U.S. Navy. In the 6 years he served, he reached the rank of Petty Officer 2nd class. He considered his time in the Navy some of the best of his life. He had numerous hobbies, which included video games with his friends on his PC and XBOX. In addition, he enjoyed growing vegetables and various plants, which eventually brought him back to school. He completed his first year of College at AC with the hopes of obtaining a degree in Horticulture. After his first year, he maintained a 4.0 GPA and made the president's list.

His other hobbies included fishing and spending time with his dogs.

On July 4, 2020, he married the love of his life, Amanda Lorenz. He loved her and took care of her in every season. He also admired his stepson, Tristan Hughes, and adored his grandchildren, Carter and Asher Hughes. He also cherished his two other children, Andy Juhl-Lorenz and Emma Juhl-Lorenz.

Chad is reunited in Heaven with his Grandma Elizabeth Lorenz, Granny Ola Curry, and Betty Joslin, grandfathers John Lorenz Sr. and Claude Joslin, mothers Patsy Lorenz and Donna Joslin, and uncles John Lorenz Jr., Delbert Lorenz, Harry Buckner, James Huguley, and Dennis Joslin.
