Pablo Escobedo

August 30, 1955 — February 1, 2016

Pablo Escobedo, 60, of Amarillo, died Monday, February 1, 2016.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 4, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard Batson officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur Amarillo, Texas 79103.
Pablo was born August 30, 1955 in San Augustine, Zacatecas to Paz Escobedo and Victoria Montoya. After his father died, at the age of 6, Pablo grew up in an orphanage in Zacatecas, Mexico. He came to Amarillo in 1967and attended Sanborn Elementary and Bowie Jr. High.  At a young age he worked for Frosty Barnhill for several years before going to work for Amarillo College, where he majored in the Custodial Arts.  Later he worked for Coca-Cola before going to Owens-Corning where he worked for thirty-six years. During that time, in 1978, he married the love of his life, Sheila Lewis and they began raising their family. He was a member of First Baptist Church for 36 years.  In his spare time he worked on his rental houses.  Pablo was a man who loved helping and being there for others and will be truly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Benjamin Escobedo.

Pablo is survived by his wife, Sheila; two daughters, Elaine Rincon and husband, Jerry of Wildorado and Sylvia Flores and husband, Uriel of Swansboro, NC; two sons, Paul Escobedo and wife, Kimberly, of Sacramento, CA and Sabian Escobedo of Wildorado; three sisters, Adela Garcia and husband, David and Magdalena Rubio and husband, Alberto, all of Amarillo,  and Abimael Diaz, of Holcomb, KS; one brother, Noe Escobedo and wife Josie, of Chicago, IL; and eight grandchildren.
