PETRA “PAT” HEREDIA ALONZO, age 81 of Amarillo passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012.
Rosary will be held Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 5:30 PM at Angel Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be Monday, November 26, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Jose Gomez as celebrant. Burial is at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur.
Pat was born October 19, 1931 in Glazier, Texas to Jesus Heredia and Hilaria Estrada. She obtained her G.E.D. and worked as a teacher’s aide at Sanborn Elementary School. She later worked her way through school to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She worked at Southwest Osteopathic Hospital until her retirement.
Her family describes her as loving, caring and completely devoted to her family. She always took joy in contributing to raising her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Dolores Hererra, Nicha Lomeli, Pauline Cruz, Mary Ramirez and Isabel Heredia; two brothers, John and Joe Heredia and four infant children.
Pat is survived by three sons, Louis, Daniel and Armando Rodriguez and one daughter, Teresa Rodriguez Minjarez, all of Amarillo; two sisters, Carol Liebsch and Angela Reyes; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
