Phyllis Roberta Garrett

January 11, 1928 — June 14, 2012

Phyllis Roberta Garrett, age 84, of Amarillo went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2012.

Memorial service will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 Arthur Street with Rev. Ricky Pfeil officiating.

Phyllis was born in Watsonville, CA on January 11, 1928 to Thomas Ellsworth and Marjorie Irene Hart.  She married Kenneth Garrett on March 25, 1945 and they were married until his passing on Jan 27, 1996.  Phyllis was a member of Believers Way Church and tremendously enjoyed listening to Rev. Pfeil on the Kingdom Keys Church broadcast.

Phyllis was a homemaker and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and church.  Her relationship with the Lord Jesus was her most valued relationship.  She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and loved feeding birds.  She was very considerate of others and loved everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years; a sister Grace; a brother, Robert Hart; mother in law, Beatrice Garrett; and step-father, Lester Lynch.

Left to mourn her passing are  4 daughters, Bonnie Garrett of Amarillo, Edna Norman and husband Dale of Hobbs, NM, Cheryl Frates of Vernonia, OR and Donna Garrett of Catoosa, OK; 3 sons, Ron Garrett and wife Carole of Phoenix AZ, Steve Garrett and wife Janelle of Amarillo and Tim Garrett and wife Kelly of Pyote; 2 sisters, M. Marie Hart of Chico, CA and Vivian Lundy of Addy,  WA; 3 sisters in law, Gini Hart of Fallon, NV,  Geneva Birlem of  Cottage Grove, OR and Barbara Garrett of Long Beach, MS, 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Hospice of the Southwest for their care of Phyllis as well as Vivian’s Nursing Home for their attention to her during her stay there.
