Rafaela Aguilar

Rafaela Aguilar, age 76, died October 19, 2012, in Amarillo.

Rafaela Aguilar was born November 28, 1935 in Zihuantanejo, Mexico to Francisco and Petra Rodriguez.

Memorial Services will be Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 7:00 PM at San Jacinto Assembly of God Church, 400 N. Georgia St. with Ray Ramos, Pastor of Iglesia Cristiana Evangelica officiating.

She married her sweetheart Raul Aguilar, Sr. and they were married for 61 years until his passing in February, 2011.

Rafaela was preceded in death by her husband, Raul, her son Robert Aguilar and her mother Petra Maldonado.

Rafaela was a loving homemaker and nothing mattered more to her than her children. She enjoyed cooking Mexican food (at which she was excellent), loved gardening (especially planting rose bushes). She also loved Novelas (soap operas), Sabado Gigante (game show), following current events by reading the newspaper daily and loved People magazine (in spanish).   She also loved playing the card game UNO. Her family describes her as beautiful, humble and a woman of integrity.  She visited Iglesia Cristiana Evangelica and attended San Jacinto Assembly of God.

Rafaela is survived by; four daughters, Teresa Aguilar Ramirez & her husband Jose, Guillermina Calderón & her husband Enrique, Gabriela Aguilar-Barr & her husband Jeffrey, Alexandra Aguilar-Massey & her husband Burnice; five sons, Juan Aguilar & wife Juanita, Gustavo Aguilar, Raul Aguilar Jr. wife Gloria, Rogelio Aguilar & wife Maria, and Daniel Aguilar & wife Anita; She has 24 grandchildren, Bernard, Jonathan, Christopher, Edward, Joseph & Jessica Ramirez, Rosemary Garza, Margaret Andrade, Enrique Calderón Jr., Julie & Billie Calderón, Ricardo, Veronica and Juan Aguilar Jr., Gustavo Aguilar, Jr., Jeannie, Judy & Jonathan Aguilar, Victoria Aguilar, Martin & Kimberly Aguilar, Christian & Jeffrey Barr; 26 great- grandchildren and her beloved Chiweenie, Paco.
