Ragsdale Warren Bailey, age 84, of Amarillo died Tuesday, October 25, 2011. Memorial services will be held at noon Saturday, November 19, 2011 In San Jacinto Full Gospel Church, 211 N. Forest St., with Jason Huntington officiating.
Mr. Bailey joined the Army on June 29, 1949. Ragsdale attended the Army Finance School in St. Louise, Mo. Ragsdale also attended the Army Language School in Monterey, CA. Mr. Bailey was honorably discharged November 17, 1952.
Ragsdale was a 32nd Scottish Rite Mason, as well as a Shriner. He was also an accountant for many years.
The family of Ragsdale Bailey wishes to express their thanks to the Hospice Care of the Southwest for all the love, warmth and care they’ve all shown to Ragsdale.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Bailey and Essie Lena Queen; his brothers, T.B. and Bob; his sisters Terry Juana and Juanita Bailey; and nephew, Lesley Batterman.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris Bailey of San Leandro, CA; his niece, Edith Ann Ballew; two nephews, Jess and Wesley Batterman; two great nephews, Lance Ballew and Jason Batterman; a great niece, Mary Thompson; a great great nephew, Jacoby Batterman; and three great great nieces, Jasmine Ballew, Joselynn Batterman, and the light of his life, Jayden Batterman; two women that made a very BIG impact on Ragsdale’s life, Nelda Gonzalez and Linda DeSilva Maciel.
