Robert “Pops” McBride, 64, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in Amarillo, Texas.
Robert was born June 29, 1961, in Amarillo, Texas. Robert was married to Kandra McBride on June 5, 1981, at Greenwood Baptist Church in Hereford, Texas. They spent 45 years together and raised their children. Brandon McBride of Liberal, Kansas. Brody McBride of Amarillo, Texas. Kayla McBride of Amarillo, Texas. Bret McBride of Hereford, Texas. Micah McBride of Amarillo, Texas, and his beloved dog, Willy.
He was “Papa” to all of his Grandchildren, and he loved being called nothing more.
Robert loved spending time outdoors, especially with his children and grandchildren. He coached at his sons’ games, and rumor has it he was kicked out of a game or two for getting into it with the umpires.
Robert was a hell of a carpenter; he could build and fix anything.
Robert loved baseball, NASCAR, gardening, fishing, disc golf, and anything he could do with his family. He loved rocks and had an impressive rock collection. He enjoyed showing off his garden and rock collection.
His final days were spent with his family by his side. His loving wife, Kandra, never left him. He used his signature sarcasm to make his family laugh, and his testaments of love to make them cry. He will be greatly missed by all who know him.
He leaves behind his family: his wife Kandra, his children, Brandon and wife Jamie, Brody, Kayla, Bret and wife Lydia, and Micah.

Grandchildren: Aubrie Marquez and Jesus Suarez, Lynzee McBride and Ayden Rojas, Ricardo Trevino, Farrah McBride, Zaybri Rendon, Jacoby McBride, Adilynn McBride, Corey Rendon, Kylee Rendon, Harper McBride, Emri Heronemus, and Jaylea Perez.
Great Grandchildren: Jaylyn Rojas, Zayvien McBride, Mateo Suarez, Maeve Arnett, Carter Arnett, and Valentino Esparza-Perez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Joyce McBride, father in law, Gary Bandy, and sister in law, Joy Bandy.
