Roberto Alfonso Licon, de 74 años, falleció el 29 de junio de 2026 en Amarillo.

El velorio público se llevará a cabo el jueves 2 de julio de 2026, de 10:00 a. m. a 7:00 p. m., en Angel Funeral Home, ubicado en el 2209 de South Arthur Street. El servicio funerario tendrá lugar el viernes 3 de julio de 2026 a las 10:00 a. m. en Angel Funeral Home.

Roberto nació el 6 de marzo de 1952 en Meoqui, Chihuahua, México, hijo de Manuel Licon y Socorro Esparza. El 30 de abril de 1973 contrajo matrimonio con la hermosa Armida Solís en Meoqui, Chihuahua, México.

Roberto y Armida construyeron una vida centrada en la familia, el trabajo arduo y el amor. Más tarde, la familia se mudó a California, donde Roberto comenzó a seguir el béisbol y se convirtió en un apasionado seguidor de los Los Angeles Dodgers; permaneció fiel a su equipo durante toda su vida. También disfrutaba ver boxeo.

En 1994, la familia se trasladó a Dumas, donde residieron hasta 2017, año en que se mudaron a Amarillo. Roberto fue un hombre trabajador que se sentía muy orgulloso de proveer para su familia. Estaba especialmente orgulloso de ser propietario de su propia casa, un reflejo de su dedicación, perseverancia y compromiso con sus seres queridos. Trabajó durante muchos años para ConAgra Foods y, posteriormente, para Paramount Fitness Equipment.

Roberto se sentía más feliz cuando estaba rodeado de su familia, celebrando las bendiciones de la vida, especialmente los cumpleaños y las reuniones especiales. Valoraba profundamente el tiempo que pasaba con sus seres queridos.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres.

A Roberto le sobreviven su esposa durante cincuenta y tres años, Armida; sus hijos, Carlos y Larry Licon; su hija, Vanessa Meléndez; y sus nietos Valentina María Quiroz, Natalie Ann Meléndez, Alexander Joseph Meléndez y Ronin Roberto Licon.

Public viewing will be held Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 South Arthur Street. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Angel Funeral Home on Friday, July 3, 2026.

Roberto was born on March 6, 1952, in Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Manuel Licon and Soccoro Esparza. On April 30, 1973, he married the beautiful Armida Solis in Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Roberto and Armida built a life centered around family, hard work, and love. The family later moved to California, where Roberto began following baseball and became a passionate fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He remained loyal to his team throughout his life. He also enjoyed watching boxing.

In 1994, the family moved to Dumas, where they made their home until 2017, when they moved to Amarillo. Roberto was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family. He was especially proud to be a homeowner, a reflection of his dedication, perseverance, and commitment to those he loved. He worked for ConAgra Foods for many years and later for Paramount Fitness Equipment.

Roberto was happiest when surrounded by his family, celebrating life’s blessings, especially birthdays and special gatherings. He cherished the time spent with those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Roberto is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Armida; his sons, Carlos and Larry Licon; his daughter, Vanessa Melendez; and his grandchildren Valentina Maria Quiroz, Natalie Ann Melendez, Alexander Jospeh Melendez and Ronin Roberto Licon.
