July 18, 1954 — May 18, 2023

Amarillo

Rose Marie Poindexter, 68, of Amarillo passed peacefully from this world into the arms of Jesus Christ on Thursday, May 18 at 12:30am.

The family will host a private inurnment at a later date.

Rose was born on July 18, 1954 to Kellye and Marquitta Miller in Flagstaff, Arizona. She loved to cook delicious meals for her family, going through old photo albums and reminiscing while sharing stories of her incredible life. She was an avid reader and loved to binge watch movies and TV Series as she sipped on a Sonic Coke.

The family remembers her fond memories with her “Porch Time”, her love of baking Christmas fudge, embroidery and teaching Candy to cook the old family recipes. Rose was loved and was loved by so many. She was there for you in any way she could be whether it be a voice of reason or a shoulder to cry on, she was an angel that touched the lives of so many.

Steve said he always called her “Tracey’s goofy sister” because of the goofy things she did. Uncle Roger always called her “Nosey” because she always wanted to know where he was going and what he was doing. Her mother Marquitta said, “Rose, in the middle of the boys for a long time, always tried so hard to please and stay out of trouble, and yet she was the stubborn, hard headed one. She always said “I will do it my way”. She was my curly headed angel.

Rose left this earth to finally be reunited with her loving husband Kenny Lee Poindexter, parents Kellye G. Miller and Marquitta and George Elliott, brothers Kelly L. Miller and Joe L. Miller, and sister Tracy A. Bates. Those left to cherish her memories are her sons Brandon White, Mikey White and wife Vicki,  and Kenny Lee Poindexter II and wife Adelaide, daughter Candida White; and all who loved her including multiple grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends.

Isiah 49:16 - And so God says about His people, “I have engraved you on the palms of my hands, Your walls are continually before me”.
