Simon Solis was born in Jones County, Texas April 18, 1954 to Fannie Martinez and Simon Solis Sr. He graduated from Lamesa High School.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Amarillo, Texas 79109. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 12, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, with burial to follow at Llano Cemetery.
Simon Solis Jr., known as "Tio Simon," cherished his nieces and nephews. He was always willing to assist with a helping hand, such as painting, doing a little more each time . He especially enjoyed family and friends gathering where he delighted in favorite meals, cookouts, beans, and watermelon.
He fought his illness with great unwavering courage despite not knowing his sickness and short time of treatments. Throughout his entire journey, he stood brave as a warrior. He fought a good fight of faith and loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He showed bravery and will be missed dearly.
Simon Solis Jr.'s loving spirit is carried on by his siblings: Dario & Linda Solis of Austin, Texas, Silvia & Ben Gonzales, Carolina Cuellar Martinez, Amarillo, Texas, Jessie & Johanna Cuellar of Mesquite, Texas. Siblings preceding him in peace are: his mother, Fannie Cuellar; Robert Solis; Ray J. Solis; Steven Solis; Mary J. Solis; Mario M. Solis; and Eric A. Cuellar.
