William Edgar Fischer Jr., age 78, of Amarillo, passed away on September 30, 2026, in Amarillo.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Military Honors will be presented by The Volley for Veterans. 

William was born on July 10, 1948, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to William Edgar Fischer Sr. and Ann Elizabeth Kruhm Fischer. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966 until 1970.

On August 8, 1969, William married his beloved Vicki in the original chapel of First Baptist Church. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and devotion to one another.

William was a hardworking provider, a good man, and a God-fearing man who loved his family deeply. He believed in working hard and taking care of those he loved, and throughout his life, his family remained his greatest priority. He also had a special place in his heart for animals. His faithful companions brought him tremendous comfort and joy, especially his beloved dog, Addie.

William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vicki, in 2025, and by his cherished puppy, Lexi.

He is survived by his two daughters, Sondra Fischer Montgomery and Tiffani Fischer, both of Amarillo; his sister, Elizabeth Ann Lairsey of Tampa, Florida; his faithful Chiweenie, Addie; and the family cat, London.
