W. R. "Wimpy" Howard, 86, went to sleep and woke up with the Lord on October 9, 2013.
A celebration of Life Gathering will be Saturday, October 26 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Bring your memories and join us at a reception to honor his memory at First Baptist Church Family Life Center Grand Room, 1208 S Tyler St, Amarillo, TX.
He was born September 12, 1927 to Alice and Haskell Howard in Amarillo, TX. He was employed at many auto parts suppliers. Before computers, if anyone in town needed to know a part number, they called Wimpy Howard. After many years he retired and worked security at Craig Retirement Center until 2012.
He is survived by his wife Connie Howard of Bushland; his children - Mike from Arizona; Patrick and Dan both from Sandy, Utah; Craig and Susie Mitchell from Amarillo; a sister Nita Lamkin of Amarillo; four brothers, Dewayne, Garland and Billy from Amarillo and Douglas from San Antonio. Wimpy had many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren that will miss him dearly.
