Henry Edward Terroy

Henry Edward Terroy was Born July 16, 1955, in Worchester Massachusetts, and passed away on October 11, 2019, at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo Texas.

Survived by his two sisters Mary Beth Terroy of New York, Cindy Lou Terroy-Abrams of Indiana and one brother William Wilford Terroy III of Delaware. As well as his nephew Andrew Joseph Friedel, his great-nephew Mason Alexander Friedel, his nieces Mildred Elizabeth Jordon, Jasmine Tamara Terroy, and Renee Elizabeth Friedel.

Henry grew up in Delaware, where he attended a Vocational Technical school, studying cooking and baking. After graduation, he joined the Army on November 22, 1977, taking his basic training in Killeen Texas and was honorarily discharged May 09, 1985, From Fort Bragg North Carolina. After which he moved to Alaska where he opened a restaurant and lived there several years. He later moved to Danville Indiana and lived there until he moved to Delta Pennsylvania. While living in Pennsylvania Henry worked at Harford County Detention Center in Maryland. There Henry worked in the kitchen as a cook where he was supervisor over prisoners cooking. Henry received many awards and appreciation letters for the outstanding job he did.

Throughout the years Henry always expressed his love for Texas, he decided it was time to fulfill his dream and moved to Amarillo Texas in 2014. He lived in Amarillo working and retiring from Amarillo VA. Even after retiring he still served our veterans by volunteering in the administration office. He established many friendships while working at the VA and living in Amarillo.

Henry’s family is asking lieu of flowers to please donate to the Wounded Warrior Fund in remembrance of Henry and to continue his care that he had for his fellow veterans.
