Jan Karen Seger

Jan Karen Seger, an 18 year breast cancer survivor, passed away peacefully after a brief battle with bladder cancer at The Heritage Convalescent Center on June 27, 2018.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur St.

Jan was born December 20, 1942 in Amarillo to Karl and Rena Rice.

She was a long time resident of Amarillo where she graduated from Tascosa High School in 1961 and through the years she held various positions from retail to banking. She had a strong affection for the people in her life and will be loved and missed by many.  Family and friends will always remember her passion for music and sports and her deep spiritual connection to nature - but most of all her rebel spirit and zest for life!

Jan was preceded in death in 1998 by her mother Rena Allred Hobbs and in 2003, her father, Karl Gordon Rice.

She leaves behind a son, William Anthony (Tony) Goodrich; daughter, René Goodrich Baures and husband, Todd; grandson, Connor William Goodrich; sister, Judy Riner; step sister, Sherri Melton; niece and nephew, Marin Riner Koentopf and Dax Riner; best friend, Reneé McCormack and longtime companion and friend, Ranger Thornton.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in Jan’s name to Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd, Amarillo, Texas 79106.
