Maria Garcia Pena

Maria Garcia Pena of Amarillo, formerly of Petersburg, passed away peacefully on 2/1/2020 at home.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur St. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home.

Maria was born on October 7, 1934 in San Benito, Texas.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Whatever she did she did with love and always had a smile on her face. She will be dearly missed.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children Maria Ramona Garcia, Jovita Elia Cruz, Paul Garcia, Manual Ysaguirre and wife Denise, all of Amarillo; Andy Flores and wife Rachel, of Fort Worth, Mary Ellen Garcia of Grand Rapid, MI, Patricia Garcia and husband Robert of San Antonio; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Brother Heriberto Jr; sisters Virginia and Marta all from Grapevine, Tx.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents Heriberto Barron Sr and Ramona Gonzalez Barron; her husband Jesus Pena; a son, Leonardo Garcia Jr.; brothers Mateo and Gregorio; a grandson Micheal and a great grandson Benito.
