Marlene (Van Houten) Rasco

Marlene Rasco, age 81 of Amarillo died January 11, 2022 in Amarillo.

Public viewing will be held on Sunday, January 16 ^th at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 South Arthur from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  The funeral service will be held Monday, January 17 ^th at 10:00 AM at Angel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Davey officiating.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home.

Marlene was born on February 21, 1940 in Pampa, Texas to Ontoria and Myrtle Taylor Van Houten.

She was quite the creative individual with interest and talents ranging from art, sewing, cooking her famous stew to tooling leather.  Marlene loved animals but had a fondness for pugs and she also had vast collection of angels. Of all her many careers in life, her favorite was that of mom and homemaker, She took pride in caring for her family. Marlene’s memory will be cherished by all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Maxine, Zona, Faye and Toni.

Marlene is survived by her two daughters, Martha Long of Amarillo and Hope Hanson and her husband Mike of Goodyear, Arizona; her sister, Norma Thompson and her husband Tommy of Dalhart; and by her grandson, Ashley Terry and his wife Brittney of Amarillo.
