Sylvia Hernandez

Sylvia Hernandez, 60, of Amarillo passed away June 27, 2020.

Sylvia will be available for viewing from 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., with a rosary at 6:00 p.m., Friday, July 3, 2020 at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur St. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 4, 2020 at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home.

Sylvia was born in Hereford, Texas on October 2nd, 1959 to George and Pauline Martinez. She married Johnny Hernandez on May 14th, 1977. They had two children, Yvonne and Johnny Jr. while living in Hereford. Sylvia was a caretaker to many people, no matter the situation. She moved to Amarillo, Texas in 2003, where she continued to be a caretaker.

Sylvia was a very happy, loving, and joyful woman. Her hobbies included making homemade food and tortillas, singing, dancing, and loving on her dog, “Baby”. Her priority was spending quality time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Pauline Martinez; and her brothers, Jesse and Raymond Martinez.

Sylvia is survived by her husband, Johnny Hernandez; daughter, Yvonne Hernandez; son, Johnny Jr. and his wife, Lorena; granddaughter Zoraya Hernandez; sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that she loved dearly.
